For the first time our team aims to demonstrate the potential synergic effect of NanoSe and probiotics against Cd toxicity.

We will develop and characterize two dairy functional foods based on NanoSe enriched with probiotics Lactobacillus casei and fermentum.

The in vitro studies will provide informations on biocompatibility, intestinal absorption of the NanoSe particles. Also, using the spectroscopy method, the ability of functional foods to bind to Cd will be investigated. In the final step, after in vivo experiments, we will validate one single food products with highly potential to annihilate cadmium toxicity.

Other novelty is also related to identification of epigenetic alteration induse by Cd, to understand the protective effects of nanoparticle and probiotics.

 At the beginning of the project we have TRL3. After in vitro and in vivo tests and analysis, will be validated one single functional foods with highly potential to annihilate Cd toxicity, which confirmes the level of TRL4 at the end of the project.
